Everyone Needs a Weekend Away...

Hello!

We all need some R&R once in a while and last weekend was my turn!

My friend, Sandi, and I headed off to Hahndorf, South Australia for a long weekend of fun, laughter, friendship and craftiness!

This event was organised by Natalie May (https://nataliemay.com.au), the owner of a great scrapbooking business right here in Adelaide.

We arrived on Friday morning and made our way to the large craft room and to meet up with our friends, Wendy, Tania, Kasia, Michelle and Sharni. Our table mates were Judy, Tina and Trish - our new friends!

There were about 60 fellow crafters creating all sorts of different projects - card-making, scrapbooking, painting, weaving, albums, invitations, art journaling, and more.

Natalie spoilt us with a fabulous gold gift bag full of great goodies. I reckon it was over $100 worth. We had some challenges we could enter using some of the products in our goodie bag.

I was lucky to be one of the prize winners with my layout using the Mintay paper collection I had in my bag.

Let's talk food!!! Breakfast, morning tea and lunch supplied each day - tea, coffee on tap, stronger drinks available from the bar in the rom below us. The staff at the resort were polite and helpful without being in the way. Loads of healthy food and we snacked on the unhealthy items we had brought along! (I think Sandi and I did pretty well with our control!) Ha ha

The weather was perfect with cool mornings and evenings and bright blue sky and sunshine during the day so we could go for a leisurely walk around the resort.

Our accomodation was a 2 bedroom unit with a kitchenette and lounge and bathroom. We made good use of the electric blankets on the comfortable beds. The nights were chilly!

Natalie is an Ovarian Cancer survivor and she shared some of her story with us. Over the weekend we had some fundraising activities to help raise money for research into this disease. After the weekend, Natalie let us know we had helped raise $935 !! A great result!
